The history of Orange Almond Cake dates back to the Mediterranean region, where the combination of citrus fruits and almonds has been a culinary tradition for centuries. This delightful cake is a perfect blend of moist almond flavor and zesty orange, creating a unique and refreshing dessert. Renowned chefs like Yotam Ottolenghi and Nigella Lawson have popularized this cake in their recipes, adding their own creative twists. The best versions of this cake can be found in Mediterranean-inspired bakeries and cafes, where the use of fresh, high-quality oranges and almonds is crucial. For a gluten-free alternative, some recipes use ground almonds instead of flour, resulting in a rich and indulgent texture.
