Instructions

  • In a large pot, place the corned beef brisket and cover with 6 cups of water.
  • Add the whole cloves, black peppercorns, and bay leaf to the pot.
  • Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and cover the pot. Cook for 2 hours.
  • Add the potatoes, carrots, onion, and cabbage to the pot with the corned beef. If necessary, add more water to cover the vegetables.
  • Cover the pot and continue to simmer for an additional 30-45 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
  • Remove the corned beef and vegetables from the pot and let them rest for 10 minutes before slicing the beef.
  • Serve the sliced corned beef with the vegetables and enjoy!
