Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 brioche buns
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix 1 lb of ground beef with 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
  • Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Toast the brioche buns on the grill until lightly browned, about 1-2 minutes. Set aside.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to a skillet over medium heat. Add 1/2 sliced onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add 8 oz of sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their liquid and become golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Grill the beef patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
  • To assemble the burgers, spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise and 1 tablespoon of ketchup on the bottom half of each brioche bun. Place a lettuce leaf and a tomato slice on top of the sauce. Place a beef patty with melted cheese on top of the tomato, then spoon the sautéed mushrooms and onions on top of the patty. Finally, place the top half of the brioche bun on top of the mushrooms and onions.
  • Serve the mushroom Swiss burgers immediately and enjoy!
