Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 8 oz of mushrooms, sliced
- 4 cups of fresh spinach
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Add 1 finely chopped onion and 2 minced cloves of garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add 8 oz of sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their liquid and start to brown, about 8 minutes.
- Add 4 cups of fresh spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in 1/2 cup of heavy cream and 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the mushroom and spinach mixture to a baking dish.
- Sprinkle 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs evenly over the top of the mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and the gratin is bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
