  • In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  • In a large pitcher, combine 6 cups of cold water, 1 cup of fresh lemon juice, 1/2 cup of fresh lime juice, and the cooled sugar syrup.
  • Add 1/4 cup of fresh mint leaves to the pitcher and stir to combine.
  • Refrigerate the minty lemonade for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the minty lemonade over the ice. Garnish with additional mint leaves and lemon or lime slices if desired.
