The Mai Tai Swizzle is a tropical cocktail that originated in the 1940s, credited to Victor J. "Trader Vic" Bergeron, a renowned figure in the tiki bar and Polynesian restaurant scene. This iconic drink gained popularity in California and Hawaii before spreading worldwide. The Mai Tai Swizzle typically consists of rum, lime juice, orgeat syrup, and orange liqueur, garnished with a mint sprig and a slice of pineapple. The key to a perfect Mai Tai Swizzle lies in the quality of the rum and the balance of flavors. Today, the best versions of this cocktail can be found in tiki bars and upscale restaurants with a focus on mixology.
