Kugel, a traditional Jewish dish, has a rich history dating back to the 13th century. Originating in Germany, it has evolved over time and is now enjoyed in various forms across the world. The addition of a crunchy granola crust adds a delightful twist to this classic dish, infusing it with a delightful texture and flavor. Renowned chefs like Yotam Ottolenghi have experimented with this variation, blending the traditional with the contemporary. The best versions of this dish can be found in Jewish delis and bakeries, where the granola crust is meticulously prepared to achieve the perfect balance of sweetness and crunch. The key to nailing this dish lies in the harmonious combination of the creamy kugel filling and the crispy granola topping. Whether served as a side dish or a dessert, this modern take on kugel is sure to impress.
