Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 slices of American cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together 1 pound of ground beef, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and form them into thin patties.
- Place 2 slices of American cheese on 4 of the patties, leaving a small border around the edges. Top with the remaining 4 patties and press the edges to seal, forming 4 stuffed patties.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Brush the patties with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of mayonnaise and 1 tablespoon of sriracha sauce to make the spicy sriracha mayo.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading the spicy sriracha mayo on the bottom half of each bun. Place a stuffed patty on each bottom bun, then cover with the top bun.
- Serve the Spicy Sriracha Jucy Lucy Burgers immediately and enjoy!
The Jucy Lucy Burger, a Minneapolis creation, is a mouthwatering marvel with a surprise inside - molten cheese oozing from the center. This iconic burger has a storied history, with two bars, Matt's Bar and the 5-8 Club, both claiming to be the birthplace. The rivalry between these establishments adds a spicy twist to the tale, much like the sriracha mayo that has become a popular accompaniment to this legendary burger. The best version of this dish can be found in Minneapolis, where chefs meticulously craft the perfect blend of beef, cheese, and spices. The key to nailing this dish lies in achieving the ideal cheese-to-meat ratio and ensuring the patty is cooked to juicy perfection. Whether you prefer the original or a spicy sriracha mayo variation, the Jucy Lucy Burger is a must-try for any burger enthusiast.
