Ingredients
- 8 ounces of Italian sausage
- 8 ounces of pasta
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1/2 cup of diced onion
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 ounces) of diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon of dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 8 ounces of pasta and cook according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add 8 ounces of Italian sausage, removed from casings, and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Add 1/2 cup of diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add 2 cloves of minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
- Stir in 1 can of diced tomatoes, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, and 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sausage and tomato sauce. Toss to combine and heat through.
- Serve the Italian sausage and pasta hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese. Enjoy!
