Honey-Soy Glazed Tofu
Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 block (14 oz) of firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
- Cooking oil spray
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking oil.
- Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons honey, minced garlic, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, and 1 tablespoon sesame oil to make the glaze.
- Brush the tofu cubes with half of the glaze, making sure they are evenly coated. Reserve the remaining glaze for later.
- Bake the tofu in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.
- While the tofu is baking, prepare the remaining glaze by combining 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.
- Once the tofu is done, transfer it to a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Pour the remaining glaze over the tofu and add the cornstarch mixture.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring gently, until the glaze thickens and coats the tofu evenly.
- Garnish the glazed tofu with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
- Serve the honey-soy glazed tofu hot with steamed rice or your favorite vegetables. Enjoy!
