- 4 large potatoes, diced into 1/2 inch cubes
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat 1/4 cup of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the diced potatoes to the skillet and spread them out into an even layer. Let them cook without stirring for 5 minutes to allow the bottom to brown and crisp up.
- Sprinkle the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the potatoes. Use a spatula to flip the potatoes and continue cooking for another 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are golden and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
- Once the potatoes are cooked, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover the skillet with a lid and let the cheese melt for 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and let the cheese melt for a few more minutes.
- Serve the cheddar cheese home fries hot as a delicious side dish.
