- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- In a slow cooker, combine 1 cup of pineapple juice, 1/2 cup of ketchup, 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 3 cloves of minced garlic, 1 teaspoon of grated ginger, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes.
- Add 3 lbs of pork shoulder pieces to the slow cooker and toss to coat with the sauce.

- Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and pour the thickened sauce over the pork. Toss to coat the pork with the sauce.
- Cover and cook on low for an additional 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve the Hawaiian BBQ pork hot with steamed rice and enjoy!
Hawaiian BBQ Pork, also known as Kalua Pork, is a traditional Hawaiian dish with a rich history. This flavorful dish originated in the Polynesian islands and is a staple of Hawaiian cuisine.
