  • Pour in the Guinness beer and beef broth, stirring to combine. Add the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and dried thyme. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until the mixture thickens.
  • Stir in the frozen peas and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Transfer the beef mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes over the top, smoothing with a spatula.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the shepherd's pie is heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
