Ingredients
- 4 venison steaks (6 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Brush the venison steaks with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Grill the steaks for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired level of doneness. Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes.
- While the steaks are grilling, place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- In a small saucepan, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. Pour the garlic and oil mixture over the potatoes.
- Add the butter, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese to the potatoes. Mash with a potato masher until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Divide the garlic mashed potatoes among 4 plates. Place a grilled venison steak on top of each serving of mashed potatoes. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve hot.
