Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons honey, 2 cloves minced garlic, and 1 teaspoon grated ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water to create a slurry. Slowly pour the slurry into the simmering sauce, whisking constantly until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Brush the salmon fillets with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  • Place the salmon fillets on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the fish is cooked through and has grill marks.
  • During the last 2 minutes of grilling, brush the teriyaki glaze onto the salmon fillets, allowing it to caramelize slightly.
  • Remove the salmon from the grill and transfer to a serving platter. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
  • Serve the grilled salmon with teriyaki glaze immediately, and enjoy!
