Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons honey, 2 cloves minced garlic, and 1 teaspoon grated ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water to create a slurry. Slowly pour the slurry into the simmering sauce, whisking constantly until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Brush the salmon fillets with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the salmon fillets on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the fish is cooked through and has grill marks.
- During the last 2 minutes of grilling, brush the teriyaki glaze onto the salmon fillets, allowing it to caramelize slightly.
- Remove the salmon from the grill and transfer to a serving platter. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
- Serve the grilled salmon with teriyaki glaze immediately, and enjoy!
