Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 6 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract until well coated.
  • Place the peach slices directly on the grill grates and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear and the peaches are slightly softened. Remove from the grill and set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture is crumbly.
  • Divide the grilled peaches among 6 ramekins or a baking dish. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the top of the peaches.
  • Place the ramekins or baking dish on the grill and close the lid. Grill for 10-12 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbling.
  • Remove from the grill and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy the grilled peach crisp on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Dessert
American

Grilled Peach Crisp is a delightful dessert that combines the natural sweetness of ripe peaches with a crunchy, buttery topping. This dish has its roots in traditional American cuisine, where peaches are abundant in the summer months. Chefs across the country have put their own spin on this classic, adding unique ingredients like bourbon or cinnamon to enhance the flavor profile. One renowned version of this dish can be found at a charming farm-to-table restaurant in the heart of Georgia, where the peaches are locally sourced and the crisp is baked to perfection. The key to a great Grilled Peach Crisp lies in using perfectly ripe peaches and achieving a balance of sweet and tart flavors in the filling. Whether served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, this dessert is a true celebration of summer's bounty.
