Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup of sliced red onion
- 1/4 cup of lettuce leaves
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a small bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Brush the chicken breasts with olive oil and place them on the grill. Cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- During the last few minutes of grilling, brush the chicken with the BBQ sauce mixture, flipping and brushing a few times until the chicken is fully coated and the sauce is caramelized.
- Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each chicken breast and allow it to melt for 1-2 minutes.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
- Assemble the sandwiches by placing a grilled chicken breast on the bottom half of each bun. Top with sliced red onion and lettuce, then cover with the top half of the bun.
- Serve the grilled BBQ chicken sandwiches hot and enjoy!
