Ingredients
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 6 cups cold water
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
- 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of white sugar with 1/2 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved. This will create a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- In a large pitcher, combine 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice, the cooled simple syrup, and 6 cups of cold water. Stir well to mix.
- Add 1/4 cup of fresh mint leaves and 2 tablespoons of grated fresh ginger to the pitcher. Stir to combine.
- Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to infuse.
- Before serving, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the ginger mint lemonade over the ice. Garnish with additional mint leaves and lemon slices if desired.
