Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of white sugar with 1/2 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved. This will create a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  • In a large pitcher, combine 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice, the cooled simple syrup, and 6 cups of cold water. Stir well to mix.
  • Add 1/4 cup of fresh mint leaves and 2 tablespoons of grated fresh ginger to the pitcher. Stir to combine.
  • Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to infuse.
  • Before serving, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the ginger mint lemonade over the ice. Garnish with additional mint leaves and lemon slices if desired.
