Galaxy Donut with Cosmic Jelly Filling

Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Purple, blue, and black food coloring
  • 1/2 cup cosmic jelly
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • Edible glitter or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, sugar, and yeast.
  • Add warm milk, melted butter, eggs, salt, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, adding the remaining 1/2 cup of flour as needed, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  • Divide the dough into three equal parts. Tint each part with purple, blue, and black food coloring to create a galaxy effect. Knead the dough until the colors are fully incorporated.
  • Place the colored dough back into the mixing bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to 1/2 inch thickness. Use a donut cutter to cut out donut shapes. Place the donuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the donuts for 10-12 minutes, or until they are lightly golden. Allow them to cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Once the donuts are cooled, fill a piping bag with cosmic jelly. Insert the tip of the piping bag into the side of each donut and gently squeeze to fill the donuts with cosmic jelly.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze. Dip the tops of the donuts into the glaze and place them back on the wire rack to set. Sprinkle with edible glitter or sprinkles if desired.
  • Enjoy your out-of-this-world galaxy donuts with cosmic jelly filling!

The Galaxy Donut, filled with cosmic jelly, is a celestial delight that has captured the hearts and taste buds of food enthusiasts across the cosmos. This otherworldly treat traces its origins to a visionary chef in a small intergalactic bakery on the planet Zorblax. The donut's ethereal appearance and mesmerizing taste quickly gained interstellar fame, with renowned restaurants in the Andromeda Galaxy and beyond adding it to their menus. The key to its allure lies in the delicate balance of the donut's fluffy texture and the cosmic jelly's tantalizing blend of starfruit, moonberry, and nebula nectar. Today, the best version of this dish can be savored at the Cosmic Crumbs Cafe on the asteroid belt of the Orion system. To recreate this cosmic confection, sourcing the freshest starfruit and moonberry extracts is crucial, ensuring an out-of-this-world experience with every bite.
