Dark Chocolate Dipped Florentine Cookies
Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat. Stir in 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and 1/2 cup of heavy cream. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of sliced almonds, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined.
- Drop teaspoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one as they will spread during baking. Flatten each mound with the back of a spoon to form thin, even circles.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 8 ounces of dark chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted.
- Dip half of each cooled Florentine cookie into the melted dark chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off. Place the dipped cookies back onto the parchment paper and let the chocolate set at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
- Once the chocolate has set, the Dark Chocolate Dipped Florentine Cookies are ready to be enjoyed!
