Cuban

The Cuban sandwich, also known as the Cubano, is a traditional Cuban-American dish that originated in the cafes of Ybor City, Tampa, in the late 1800s. This iconic sandwich features a combination of ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, and sometimes salami, all layered between Cuban bread and pressed to crispy perfection. The dish reflects the fusion of Cuban and American culinary influences, with its roots in the immigrant communities of Florida. Today, the best Cuban sandwiches can be found in Miami and Tampa, where local chefs and restaurants have perfected the art of crafting this beloved sandwich. The key to a great Cuban sandwich lies in the quality of the ingredients and the perfect balance of flavors, making it a must-try for any food enthusiast.
