Ingredients
- 3-4 pounds of chuck roast
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 carrots, peeled and cut into chunks
- 4 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- 1 cup of beef broth
- 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons of water
Instructions
- Season the chuck roast with 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder.
- Place the chopped onion, carrots, and potatoes in the bottom of the crock pot.
- Place the seasoned chuck roast on top of the vegetables.
- In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of beef broth and 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, then pour over the roast and vegetables.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the meat is tender.
- Once the roast is cooked, remove it from the crock pot and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry.
- Pour the slurry into the crock pot and stir to thicken the gravy.
