Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 2/3 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 2 1/4 cups of packed brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together 2 3/4 cups of flour, 2 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix 2/3 cup of melted butter and 2 1/4 cups of packed brown sugar until well combined.
- Beat in 3 eggs, one at a time, then stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Gradually blend the flour mixture into the wet ingredients.
- Fold in 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips and 1 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the bars are set and the edges are golden brown.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.
