- 4 beef hot dogs
- 4 hot dog buns
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup yellow mustard
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
- Add the ketchup, mustard, water, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While the meat sauce is simmering, grill or boil the hot dogs according to package instructions.
- Place the cooked hot dogs in the buns and top each with a generous amount of the meat sauce.
