Instructions

  • Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. Season each patty with 1/8 teaspoon of salt and a pinch of black pepper.
  • Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and brush with vegetable oil. Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  • During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
  • Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or skillet for about 1 minute, until they are lightly browned.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup and mayonnaise to create the burger sauce.
  • Assemble the cheeseburgers by spreading the burger sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a patty with melted cheese on top of the sauce, then add pickles, onions, and lettuce. Top with the other half of the bun.
