Ingredients

  • 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh cilantro
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • 1 avocado, peeled and pitted
  • 1/4 cup of sour cream
  • 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, toss the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped cilantro and lime juice.
  • In a blender or food processor, combine the avocado, sour cream, Greek yogurt, garlic, cayenne pepper, and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy. If the crema is too thick, add a splash of water to thin it out.
  • Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or in the microwave until soft and pliable.
  • To assemble the tacos, divide the shrimp evenly among the tortillas and top with a dollop of avocado crema. Serve with additional lime wedges and cilantro, if desired.
