Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of warm water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 packet of active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add 3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of salt, and 1/4 cup of olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a breadstick shape and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, mix 3 cloves of minced garlic with 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Brush the garlic butter over the breadsticks. Sprinkle the breadsticks with 1/2 cup of grated mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
