Caramelized Onion Beef Liver Stir-Fry
Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef liver, sliced into thin strips
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together 3 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp oyster sauce, and 1 tbsp brown sugar. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized and golden brown, about 10-12 minutes. Remove the caramelized onions from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 tbsp of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add 1 tsp of minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the sliced beef liver to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the liver is no longer pink. Season with 1/2 tsp of ground black pepper.
- Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce mixture, along with 1/4 cup of beef broth. Stir well to combine and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the liver evenly.
- Add the caramelized onions back into the skillet and toss to combine with the liver and sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to heat through.
- Garnish the stir-fry with chopped green onions and serve hot over steamed rice or noodles. Enjoy!
