Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine 1 lb ground chicken, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Mix until well combined, then form into 4 burger patties.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15-20 minutes or until the onions are caramelized. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, cook the chicken burger patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked through.
  • During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each burger patty and allow it to melt.
  • Toast the hamburger buns in a toaster or on the grill.
  • To assemble the burgers, spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a lettuce leaf, a tomato slice, a chicken burger patty with melted Swiss cheese, and a generous amount of caramelized onions. Cover with the top half of the bun.
