  • In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of oats, 1 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  • Stir in 1 cup of melted butter until the mixture is crumbly. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  • Spread the chopped apples over the crust layer. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the apples and press down lightly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  • Allow the bars to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before drizzling with 1/2 cup of caramel sauce.
