Cajun Crab Boil

Ingredients
- 4 quarts water
- 1/2 cup Cajun seasoning
- 2 tablespoons whole black peppercorns
- 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 pounds small red potatoes
- 4 ears of corn, shucked and cut into thirds
- 2 pounds large shrimp, deveined and shells on
- 2 pounds whole crab, cleaned and halved
Instructions
- In a large stockpot, bring 4 quarts of water to a boil.
- Add 1/2 cup of Cajun seasoning, 2 tablespoons each of whole black peppercorns, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt to the boiling water.
- Allow the spices to infuse into the water for 10 minutes.
- Add the red potatoes to the pot and cook for 10 minutes.
- Add the corn to the pot and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Add the shrimp and crab to the pot and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and the crab is heated through.
- Using a slotted spoon or spider strainer, remove the seafood and vegetables from the pot and transfer to a large serving platter or table lined with newspaper or butcher paper.
- Serve the Cajun Crab Boil with additional Cajun seasoning for sprinkling, melted butter for dipping, and plenty of napkins.
