  • 1/2 cup Cajun seasoning

  • 2 pounds small red potatoes
  • 4 ears of corn, shucked and cut into thirds

Instructions

  • In a large stockpot, bring 4 quarts of water to a boil.
  • Add 1/2 cup of Cajun seasoning, 2 tablespoons each of whole black peppercorns, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt to the boiling water.
  • Allow the spices to infuse into the water for 10 minutes.
  • Add the red potatoes to the pot and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Add the corn to the pot and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Add the shrimp and crab to the pot and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and the crab is heated through.
  • Using a slotted spoon or spider strainer, remove the seafood and vegetables from the pot and transfer to a large serving platter or table lined with newspaper or butcher paper.
  • Serve the Cajun Crab Boil with additional Cajun seasoning for sprinkling, melted butter for dipping, and plenty of napkins.
