Ingredients
- 2 cups buckwheat flour
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/4 cup flaxseeds
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together 2 cups of buckwheat flour, 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, 1/4 cup flaxseeds, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/2 tsp salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 eggs, 1 1/2 cups buttermilk, 1/4 cup honey, and 2 tbsp melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Sprinkle additional sunflower seeds on top for decoration, if desired.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
