Ingredients

  • 1 box of brownie mix
  • 2 (8 oz) packages of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup of sour cream
  • 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  • Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions. Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs. Remove from the oven and let it cool.
  • In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the sour cream and flour until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cooled brownie crust. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly. Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool in the oven with the door slightly ajar for 1 hour.
  • Remove the cheesecake from the oven and run a knife around the edges to loosen. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, before serving.
  • Slice and enjoy!
Dessert
American

Brownie Bottom Cheesecake is a decadent dessert that combines two beloved treats into one irresistible indulgence. The history of this delightful dessert is a bit murky, but it's believed to have originated in the United States, where creative bakers sought to marry the rich, fudgy goodness of brownies with the creamy, tangy perfection of cheesecake. This dessert has become a favorite in many American households and is often featured on the menus of top-notch bakeries and restaurants across the country. The best versions of this dish can be found in artisanal bakeries and upscale eateries, where skilled pastry chefs take great care in perfecting the balance of chocolatey brownie and velvety cheesecake. The key to a stellar Brownie Bottom Cheesecake lies in achieving the ideal texture for both the brownie base and the cheesecake layer. The brownie should be dense and moist, while the cheesecake should be smooth and creamy, with just the right hint of tanginess. Some alternative methods for making this dish include adding a layer of caramel or chocolate ganache on top of the brownie base before pouring in the cheesecake batter, adding a delightful twist to the classic recipe. Whether you're a fan of brownies, cheesecake, or both, this dessert is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth and leave you craving for more.
