Dessert
French

Blueberry Clafoutis is a classic French dessert originating from the Limousin region. This delectable dish features juicy blueberries nestled in a custard-like batter, creating a delightful contrast of textures and flavors. Renowned chefs like Julia Child have popularized this rustic yet elegant dessert, making it a staple in French cuisine. The best version of this dish can be found in traditional French patisseries or bistros, where the clafoutis is baked to perfection, achieving a golden-brown hue with a slightly crispy exterior. The key to a great blueberry clafoutis lies in using fresh, plump blueberries and achieving the ideal custard consistency. For a twist, some chefs incorporate almond flour or a splash of liqueur for added depth of flavor.
