  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese, mayonnaise

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth.
  • Add the bread crumbs, red onion, cilantro, chipotle pepper, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly coat with oil. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are heated through and have a crispy exterior.
  • Toast the burger buns in the skillet for 1-2 minutes, until lightly browned.
  • Assemble the burgers with your choice of toppings and enjoy!
