Biscuit with a Dollop of Whipped Cream

Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  • Add the cold butter pieces to the dry ingredients and use a pastry cutter or fork to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in 3/4 cup of milk. Stir until just combined and the dough comes together.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it holds together. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle.
  • Use a biscuit cutter to cut out 6 biscuits. Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
  • While the biscuits are baking, make the whipped cream. In a large mixing bowl, beat 1 cup of heavy whipping cream with 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • Once the biscuits are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
  • To serve, split each biscuit in half and place a dollop of whipped cream on top. Enjoy!
