  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 large potatoes, cut into fries
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  • In a slow cooker, place the pork shoulder and season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Pour BBQ sauce over the pork, cover, and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours until the pork is tender and easily falls apart.

American

BBQ Pulled Pork Fries are a mouthwatering fusion of classic American BBQ and indulgent comfort food. This dish originated in the southern United States, where pitmasters slow-cooked pork shoulder over hickory wood, then shredded it and smothered it in tangy, smoky barbecue sauce. The trend of piling this succulent pork onto a bed of crispy fries gained popularity in the 2000s, and it quickly became a beloved menu item at BBQ joints and gastropubs across the country. Chefs like Aaron Franklin and Rodney Scott have elevated the art of BBQ, inspiring countless variations of this dish. Today, the best versions can be found in BBQ meccas like Memphis, Tennessee, and Kansas City, Missouri. The key to perfect BBQ Pulled Pork Fries lies in the balance of flavors and textures - the fries must be crispy, the pork tender and flavorful, and the barbecue sauce rich and zesty. For a unique twist, some chefs top the fries with melted cheese, jalapenos, and a dollop of creamy coleslaw. Whether enjoyed as a hearty appetizer or a satisfying meal, BBQ Pulled Pork Fries are a delicious celebration of Southern barbecue tradition and indulgent comfort food.
