The BBQ Pulled Chicken Platter has a rich history rooted in the American South, where slow-cooked, smoky flavors reign supreme. This dish originated as a way to make use of leftover chicken, with the meat being slow-cooked and then shredded before being drenched in a tangy, sweet barbecue sauce. The dish gained popularity in the 20th century, particularly in regions like the Carolinas and Tennessee, where pitmasters and chefs perfected the art of smoking and grilling. Today, the best versions of this dish can be found in renowned barbecue joints and Southern-style restaurants, where the key to perfection lies in the balance of smoky, tender chicken and a finger-licking good barbecue sauce. Whether served on a platter with classic sides like coleslaw and cornbread or in a sandwich, the BBQ Pulled Chicken Platter continues to be a beloved staple of Southern cuisine.
