Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices of bacon, cooked
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  • 4 lettuce leaves

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • In a bowl, mix the ground beef with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and form them into burger patties.
  • Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
  • While the burgers are cooking, mix the BBQ sauce and mayonnaise in a small bowl to create the BBQ mayo sauce.
  • Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes, until they are lightly golden brown.
  • Assemble the burgers by spreading the BBQ mayo sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top of the sauce, followed by a burger patty with melted cheese. Add 2 slices of cooked bacon, a slice of tomato, and a few slices of red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
  • Serve the BBQ bacon cheeseburgers with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!

The BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger has a rich history dating back to the 20th century, with its origins rooted in American diners and backyard cookouts. This iconic dish features a juicy beef patty, crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a generous slathering of tangy barbecue sauce, all sandwiched between a soft, toasted bun. Renowned chefs and restaurants across the United States, particularly in the Southern and Midwestern regions, have put their own spin on this classic, elevating it to a beloved staple of American cuisine. For the best version of this dish, head to renowned BBQ joints in Texas or Kansas City, where pitmasters expertly blend smoky flavors with the perfect char on the patty. The key to a stellar BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger lies in the quality of the beef, the smokiness of the bacon, and the balance of sweet and tangy barbecue sauce. Alternatively, consider experimenting with alternative methods such as grilling the burger over open flames for an added depth of flavor.
