  • Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the sliced onions, butter, and brown sugar. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Place the burger patties on the preheated grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is reached. During the last minute of cooking, brush each patty with BBQ sauce.
  • While the burgers are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill until lightly golden.
  • Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun, then topping with 2 slices of bacon and a generous spoonful of caramelized onions. Add the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
