Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F.
  • In a small bowl, mix together 2 teaspoons of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon of onion powder.
  • Rub the spice mixture all over the beef brisket.
  • In a large Dutch oven or roasting pan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of beef broth, 1 cup of ketchup, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar, minced chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Pour the sauce over the brisket, cover the pan with foil, and place it in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for 6 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork, basting with the sauce every hour.
  • Once the brisket is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
