Instructions

  • In a separate bowl, combine 1/2 cup of cornstarch, 1/4 cup of buttermilk, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Stir until smooth.
  • Heat 1 cup of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Dip each shrimp into the cornstarch mixture, coating evenly, and then carefully place them into the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • In a large bowl, toss the fried shrimp with the prepared sauce until evenly coated.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and chopped cilantro before serving.
