Bacon-wrapped scallops have a rich history, with roots in both American and European culinary traditions. This delectable dish combines the succulent sweetness of scallops with the savory, smoky flavor of bacon, creating a perfect marriage of land and sea. Chefs in coastal regions, such as New England and the Pacific Northwest, have long embraced this dish, utilizing fresh, local seafood and artisanal bacon. The best versions of this dish often feature plump, tender scallops enveloped in crispy, caramelized bacon, creating a delightful contrast in textures. For a twist, some chefs add a glaze or seasoning to enhance the flavors, elevating this classic appetizer to new heights. For a truly memorable dining experience, seek out restaurants known for their expertise in seafood and indulge in their expertly prepared bacon-wrapped scallops.
