Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 1 cup of sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup of ketchup
  • 1/4 cup of sliced red onion
  • 4 leaves of lettuce
  • 4 slices of tomato

Instructions

  • Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  • Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Season both sides of the patties with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.
  • Place the bacon slices on the grill and cook until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  • In a skillet, cook the sliced mushrooms over medium heat until they are golden brown and tender, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
  • While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill until lightly golden, about 1-2 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and ketchup to make the burger sauce.
  • To assemble the burgers, spread the burger sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato on top of the sauce. Place a cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top of the tomato. Add a spoonful of sautéed mushrooms and 2 slices of crispy bacon. Top with sliced red onion and the other half of the bun.
  • Serve the bacon mushroom burgers immediately and enjoy!
