Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix together 1 lb of ground turkey, 1/2 cup of bread crumbs, 1 egg, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
  • Form the mixture into 4 patties.
  • Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, cook the turkey patties for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
  • If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  • Toast the hamburger buns in the skillet or on a grill until lightly browned.
  • Assemble the burgers by placing a turkey patty on the bottom half of each bun, then topping with bacon, avocado slices, lettuce, tomato, and onion.
  • Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
