Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, combine 2 1/2 cups of flour, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, 3 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  • Add in 1 cup of softened butter, mixing until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together 4 eggs, 1 cup of milk, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until well combined and smooth.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
