Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar
- 3 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup of whole milk
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine 2 1/2 cups of flour, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, 3 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
- Add in 1 cup of softened butter, mixing until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 4 eggs, 1 cup of milk, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until well combined and smooth.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, frost with your favorite frosting and enjoy!
