  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

Tiger cake, also known as "torta tigre" or "torta zebrata," is a traditional Italian dessert with a striking marbled appearance resembling a tiger's stripes. This visually stunning cake is made by layering vanilla and chocolate batters to create a unique striped pattern. The origins of tiger cake can be traced back to the Lombardy region in Northern Italy, where it has been a beloved treat for generations. Renowned Italian chefs and bakeries, such as Pasticceria Marchesi in Milan, have perfected the art of crafting this delectable dessert. The key to a perfect tiger cake lies in achieving the ideal balance of moistness and rich flavors in each distinct layer. For those seeking a taste of this delightful confection, visiting a traditional Italian bakery or mastering the recipe at home is essential.
