  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
  • 2-3 jalapenos, seeded and diced
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  • Gradually whisk in the milk and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
  • Stir in the cheddar and pepper jack cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Add the diced jalapenos, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir to combine. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs with 1 tbsp of melted butter. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the mac and cheese.
