  • Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.

  • Place 2 slices of bread, buttered side down, on the skillet or griddle.
  • Divide the cheese mixture evenly between the two slices of bread on the skillet.
  • Top each with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Remove from the skillet or griddle and let cool for a minute before slicing and serving.
