Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 12 round chocolate candies (such as chocolate-covered almonds or chocolate truffles)
- 1 cup white frosting
- Black food coloring
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 1/2 cups of flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
- In a separate large bowl, cream 1/2 cup of softened butter with 3/4 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in 2 eggs, one at a time, then stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the flour mixture, alternating with 1/2 cup of milk, until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool completely.
- While the cupcakes are cooling, tint the white frosting with black food coloring to create a black frosting.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes with the black frosting, creating a smooth surface.
- Place a round chocolate candy in the center of each cupcake to resemble a soccer ball.
